About Rory
Rory is a Chartered Physiotherapist and HCPC-registered physiotherapist who leads our physiotherapy service at the Ormeau Road clinic in Belfast. He treats the whole body: neck, shoulder, back, hip, knee, ankle and foot, from acute sports injuries to long-standing pain that has not settled.
Originally from Donegal, Rory holds an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Leeds on top of a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and Sport Science, and brings nearly a decade of specialist experience from Glasgow and Australia. That includes work as a Highly Specialist Physiotherapist in Rheumatology at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and as Lead Physiotherapist for the National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society, so he has unusual depth in inflammatory joint conditions alongside everyday musculoskeletal and sports rehab.
On the sports side he has supported British Athletics middle-distance runners and professional soccer teams. He treats adults and children, and works alongside our podiatry team when a problem needs both the foot and the rest of the chain looked at.
Rory is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Physio First. His approach is assessment-led: understand what is driving the problem, treat it hands-on where that helps, then build a progressive strength and loading plan you can actually follow.
