About Darren
Darren is a sports and musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatrist based at our Ormeau Road clinic. His caseload is injury-led: runners, field-sport athletes and active people with heel, arch, Achilles, shin, ankle and knee problems that trace back to how the foot and leg load.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry, an MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Ulster University, and a CASE-accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography from Brunel University London. That means he scans in clinic as part of the assessment rather than referring out, so diagnosis and treatment planning happen in the same appointment. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and HCPC registered.
Darren's particular strengths are gait analysis and orthotic therapy. He works closely with Réalta Labs, our in-house 3D-printing lab, on the design of custom foot orthoses, and pairs them with a loading and footwear plan so treatment is not left at the insole.
Alongside Belfast, Darren runs monthly specialist clinics for MSK assessment and custom orthotics at Lower Limb Dublin, hosted at Body Med in Clontarf.
